Personal Background

On the personal side, Matt is a Colorado native. Matt was raised and nourished by a family of artists. He has been married to his best friend for almost 17 years. (Married straight out of high school!)

When not programming, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, camping, reading, Mensa-puzzles, and just being outside.

Matt currently lives in Westminster, Colorado, with his wife and kids.

Technical Background

Matt is a Consultant at RBA Consulting. He is web development veteran with an extensive business and technical background, including over 10 years experience in web development. Matt has played an integral role in building a number of high-profile web sites and applications, and has served in senior leadership capacities with Bridgeline Digital, Atkins Nutritionals - a national diet, health and nutrition company with over 12 million website visitors annually, CollegeInvest – A Division of the Colorado Department of Higher Education and the second largest not-for-profit student loan provider in the nation, and Village Homes, acclaimed as one of Colorado’s most respected community developers and home builders.

Programs primarily in C#, ASP.NET, HTML, jQuery, CSS, SQL, XML, and Web services. Areas of technical expertise are in Web application design and architecture and security.

Has worked on projects for clients like Microsoft, Adobe, Mitsubishi, Verizon, Atkins, Remax, Jefferson County Schools, GAIAM, and The State of Colorado, to name a few.

Project: Re-Engineering an Enterprise SQL Reporting Application
Client: Confidential
Demo URL: Project unavailable to the general public.

Description: Large SQL (SSRS) reporting application using C#, HTML, CSS, jQuery, ASP.NET, .NET Ajax, JSON, SQL, and SSRS. The client has multiple database with terabytes of data. Redesigned the web UI with lots of jQuery and AJAX.NET, converted the site to be more object-oriented; lots of SQL development. The SQL development includes creating some new reports, adding dynamic charting, and converting some very complex queries to stored procedures. Included some database tuning and performance optimization and writing some WCF services.
